Curiosity Creators has officially been certified by the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) Program! As a PVSA certified organization, we're finally able to award volunteer hours to our members for their hard work and commitment towards our communities!

Today, Curiosity Creators members Ryan and Nathan interviewed a prestigious chemistry professor. Professor Huang has been teaching for more than three decades, and his students have become some of the best high school chemists in the world.

4-H Science-Sational Day

Curiosity Creators collaborated with nonprofit Somerset County 4-H to create an innovative day of science for young children. Specifically, Curiosity Creators demonstrated the effect of polarized light, in use on LCD screens. It proved very interesting to children and adults alike!

Cedar Hill School Volunteering​

A group of four Curiosity Creators, consisting of Max, Ryan, Ethan, and Noah, started volunteering at Cedar Hill School, a local elementary school. They assisted teachers who teach mini-units, weekly enrichment lessons provided after school at CHS. Working with primarily 4th and 5th graders, they helped out by answering their questions and providing encouragement. 

 

Wheelchair Project

Lately, a team from the Curiosity Creators, led by Co-President Noah Xi, has been hard at work in the research and development of a manual-wheelchair mobility attachment. Curiosity Creators hopes this project will one day be made accessible to many people and work to better their lives.

Today, co-founder Ryan Zhao gave a passionate speech about the importance of exploration and experimentation in STEM education at an event hosted by IHUB at D-I-C-E, a nonprofit organization driven to create the next generation of world leaders through public speaking.

Today, we were given the opportunity to be interviewed by Aidan Chan, the founder of Innobitious, which is a platform that provides additional academic opportunities for ambitious students that may not have access to opportunities such as internships.

Camp Curiosity - Week 2

Our second week of summer camp at Koo Chinese Academy has concluded! This week, we explored the origin of classical physics as well as the concepts of gravity and air resistance through experimentation and exploration--specifically, in the form of a paper airplane contest and an egg drop contest!

Camp Curiosity- Week 1

Recently our first week of camp teaching at Koo Chinese Academy just concluded! This week, we discussed game design as well as some basics of programming. This week, we played and discussed numerous digital as well as non-digital games, finding out what makes them so great and fun, as well as what essentially makes up a game.

Pilot Lesson!

Today we held a singular pilot lesson before the Koo Chinese summer camp starts. We focused our talk to gravity and discussed various properties of it. There were numerous demonstrations where there was no shortage of volunteers to choose from. The energy was great! The lesson also served as a great learning experience to all of our instructors before the summer camp starts!
